In the wake of excellent success of the previously completed MRCT project, the JAPAN government kindly provide continuously financial assistance of USD 806,275.77 via the JAPAN-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) to TDA to execute another landmine clearance project namely “Integrated Landmine Clearance to Promote Cross Border Economy (in ASEAN Countries) –  Lesson Learned from Thailand: ICEA”.

The ICEA project is to clear landmines in border areas for “Economic Promotion” in Surin Province in 2 operational years during 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2018 with 24 project staffs. Now the project is being operated in Chong Phrik border area of Buached District of Surin Province, and in economic area of Chongchom Permanent Border Pass, Dan Sub-district, Kabchoeng District, Surin Province.

Progression of ICEA project as of June 25, 2017: the ICEA project has found 3,640 landmines/ERW and returned safe area of approximately 335,000 sq. m. to local people to utilize for their better livelihood
